Can I just tell you that if you have a dream, don’t give up, don’t quit, don’t stop putting one foot in front of the other. I started pursuing photography as a career in October 2011. My first “newborn” wasn’t a newborn, he was one month old. At the time, that did not mean anything to me, but if I knew then what I know now…other newborn photogs will understand. My point is, looking back, it was horrible. My posing stunk, I had no focus, I did not know how to use my lighting properly, it was a mess, but I didn’t give up, I kept on going and that is why I am where I am today. Is that to say that I’m satisfied with where I am and I’m going to stop moving forward? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! I will never be satisfied, I will never stop striving to be better, I will never stop learning!! Here are a few sneak peeks from way back when so you can see for yourself.
I warned you!! The baby is clearly out of focus, the noise is horrible, I could go on and on…but I did not give up! I kept practicing, taking workshops, watching videos, asking questions…WHY?!? Because I had a dream! I was not going to let anyone or anything deter me, I had made up my mind and you should too! What is it that you dream of? What do you want to achieve? Can I tell you that it doesn’t happen over night? It’s been almost 5 years for me to get to wear I am today. Please keep going, keep reaching! And before you know it, you’ll be able to post a Way Back Wednesday and encourage others because you did not give up!!
DON’T GIVE UP!!!
