When Is the Best Time to Schedule My Session?
I suggest scheduling your newborn session in your second trimester, but it is really never to early to do it. Newborn sessions book up pretty quickly and as a courtesy to my newborn clients, I only take a limited number each month due to the unpredictability of when the baby will actually arrive.Back to Index
When Do Newborn Sessions Take Place?
Newborn sessions are best when done between 8-12 days after birth. There are a few reasons that I suggest this range. If momma is nursing, we want to allow time for her milk to come in so that baby isn’t cluster feeding during the session. If the baby is a boy and is being circumcised, we want to allow time for healing. We also want to give mom, baby, and the family time to adjust to their new life before having to bring the baby out for a session. Also, between 8-12 days after birth, the baby is still pretty sleepy and “bendable” for those cute newborn poses. Although I prefer to hold a newborn session in this age range, I will not refuse an older baby, but I cannot guarantee certain poses.Back to Index
Where Does the Session Take Place?
At my studio in Downtown Tavares, conveniently located on Old 441, approximately two blocks from the high school. When I designed the studio, I had the whole family in mind. That is why I included a mini fridge with water and juice, a coffee bar, a nursing room, baby changing area, a play area for siblings, and a sitting area for parents to relax and watch the session take place.Back to Index
How Long Will the Session Last?
This is a tricky one! I make sure that my parents know that their sweet little one is the boss in my studio…we work on their time. Expect a minimum of 2 hours for the session, unless you are booking a mini, then it is an hour. I allow time for soothing and feeding baby as it is needed.Back to Index
Do Newborn Sessions Include Family/Siblings?
The mini newborn session only allows time for the baby, but immediate family members/siblings are included in regular and the all-inclusive newborn packages.
I start with family/sibling shots first. I do this for a couple of reasons. First, I want to capture mom and dad before they get tired, hot, and sweaty because the temperature in the studio is kept warmer for the comfort of the baby. Second, to capture older siblings before they get weary and uncooperative. After their shots are done, a family member(dad, grandma, etc.) can take them home, to the park(we are located within 5 minutes of Wooton Park), to get lunch, etc., or they are free to hang out in the play area.Back to Index
What Should We Bring to the Session?
My studio is fully stocked with props, outfits, and accessories for the baby, so if you’d rather not bring anything, that is completely ok. If there is an outfit or special item that you would like to use in the session, please let me know at the time of booking. I will do my best to incorporate it into the session.
For parents and siblings, I recommend to wear neutral colors. Black, gray, white, ivory, navy, brown, and beige all photography beautifully and they compliment my organic style. No crazy patterns or shirts with words or pictures is best.

When & How Do We Pay?
A non-refundable retainer of $50.00 is required to secure your session. I will send an invoice to your email address and you can pay it using paypal or a debit/credit card. The balance is due by the date of our session. I usually send the final invoice the day before so that on the day of, we aren’t worrying about money.Back to Index
When Will I Receive My Images?
Galleries are typically complete within 2 weeks after the session takes place. There are exceptions to this rule during the busiest times of the year.Back to Index
How Do I Receive My Images?
You will receive a link to a private, password protected gallery once your gallery is complete. Depending on the package that you selected, you will choose a select number of images or you will be able to download the entire gallery.Back to Index
